2020
RE:MEMBER 2020 is our annual members’ show and sale. This exhibition-fundraiser, features 50 works in a variety of mediums for sale at a 50/50 split between the artists and the centre.
The members’ show and sale has been part of Modern Fuel since 1983, and remains its largest fundraising event. Hosting its first sale thirty-six years ago in Confederation Park, the effort has taken on multiple formats from live auction to direct sale and many venues including the Ramada Inn Walkways, The Grand Theatre, The Kingston Arts Council Office, 21A Queen Street and the Tett Centre – where we are located today. This event allows Kingston to see the contemporary art present within its community as well as celebrate the growth and development of our space, members and supporters

Throughout her life, Nan Yeomans was a loyal member and supporter of many community organizations. Her estate plan provided $1,000 to ten different organizations she wanted to remember and named the Community Foundation for Kingston and Area to be the sole residual beneficiary of her estate. Nan wanted to fund a scholarship for promising artists or artisans so that others might experience the joy she had found in making art. The Nan Yeomans Grant for Artistic Development aims to help young promising artists and/or artisans working in visual media to further their artistic growth and education. Totalling $2,500 in value and awarded annually to one individual, this grant is intended for training or focused creation. Applications are assessed by a peer jury based on the eligibility of the proposal and the artistic merit of the applicant. The selection process is administered by the Kingston Arts Council.
The exhibition opened on November 21, 2020 and ran until December 18, 2020.
